At the invitation of Eduardo, chairman of the Fourth Symposium on planetary astrophysics, Professor Eduardo of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and Professor Joaquim, director of the space weather department of the National Institute of space research (inPE) of Brazil, and entrusted by Wang Chi, director of the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Liu Weining and his party visited Mexico and Brazil from March 17 to 26 to discuss the relationship between them And promote the cooperation between the international meridian circle science project and China Brazil joint space weather Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as South American space weather laboratory).
During their stay in Mexico, the space center delegation participated in the fourth space and planet conference, and gave a detailed introduction to the international meridian circle science project. Scientists from universities and scientific research institutions such as the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the University of Nuevo Leon and the Mexican Observatory also briefly introduced their research work. Mexico said it is willing to cooperate with China in the field of space weather and jointly deploy superior equipment. During his visit to Mexico, Professor Gonzalez Spencer, vice president of the University of new Leon, cordially met with the delegation and said that he would attach great importance to the construction of the joint laboratory and hoped to sign an international meridian circle cooperation framework agreement with China in the name of the University as soon as possible.
During his visit to Brazil, Professor Galvao, President of inPE, had a cordial meeting with the delegation. Researcher Liu Weining exchanged in-depth views with Professor Galvao and Pakistani researchers on issues of common concern to both sides, such as the progress of ground-based observation of China's space environment, the international meridional circle scientific program and the follow-up cooperation between China and Pakistan on space weather. The delegation also visited the South American space weather laboratory and had a cordial exchange with postdoctoral students. Professor Joaquim, head of South American space weather laboratory, introduced the current situation and capability of Brazil's space weather research and forecast field. Under the leadership of Professor Joaquim, the delegation visited the demonstration hall of space weather monitoring.
During the visit to Brazil, the delegation also visited the solar observation laboratory and heard a presentation by Professor Luis on the Galileo space solar telescope in Brazil. After that, the delegation went to the Brazilian satellite assembly integration test center (LIT) to listen to Professor rizzto's introduction on the development and achievements of Brazil's satellite industry, and learned about the basic situation of the satellite assembly and test hall under construction. During his visit to the Catholic University of McKinsey, Brazil (UPM), researcher Liu Weining introduced the situation and progress of the international meridian circle science project, and Professor Jean introduced the basic situation of radio astronomy and Astrophysics center of the Catholic University of McKinsey, Brazil. The two sides held in-depth discussions on cooperation issues and exchanged in-depth views on potential areas and ways of cooperation.
